Designed by prominent architect Gordon B. Kaufmann, the 15,000-square-foot main house is decadently decorated in a manner that the Banderas-voiced Puss In Boots character from the Shrek movies would definitely approve of. The main house includes a recording studio, a gym, a library, a formal dining room, a library, a banquet hall, and “a two-story kitchen.” There are coffered, beamed, and curved ceilings throughout the mansion. The master bedroom—one of seven in the house—includes two bathrooms and a “double dressing room.”
The enormous grounds include a swimming pool and massive lawns. In 2000, the Banderas-Griffiths bought the property next door, demolished the house, and used the space to add to the grounds of their estate, bringing the total to the 1.55 acres it measures today.
That sale price again was $15.947 million.
