About three years after buying the Neutra, in 2007, there was a damaging fire in the house Simon had been living in, so he had a new one built. That structure—a 7,124-square-foot, four-bedroom house— stands alongside the Case Study House now. That LEED-Gold-certified house was finished in 2010 and is outfitted with “energy conservation technology” and was built with “sustainable and recycled, toxin free materials.” Simon used the larger, newer house as his main residence and living quarters, while using CSH #20 as offices and guest quarters. Simon died earlier this year. The property, which measures about one-and-a-half acres, is asking$18 million.
