Per the Listing: “Beautifully restored Craftsman home located in Curbed LA’s neighborhood of the year, West Adams. Situated on a quiet street with an easy commute to Downtown LA and the West side. The Expo line is just a few blocks away. The home has beautiful wood details throughout with original hardwood floors, fireplace and many built-ins creating ample storage. The kitchen was remodeled just a few years ago and there is a separate laundry area. Besides 3 bedrooms there is also a breakfast room off the kitchen, that could also be used as an office/den or nursery. The front and backyard have been fully landscaped, and the backyard includes a spacious 2 car garage and playhouse. The exterior has been freshly painted. As a bonus: Jefferson Park is a HPOZ neighborhood and the house might be Mills Act eligible (property tax savings). If you are looking for an original Craftsman with updated features like central A/C and heating, in a very community-centered neighborhood, this home is waiting for you.”
According to the LA Times Mapping Project, this sweet 1911 bungalow is technically located in Jefferson Park, not West Adams, though the two neighborhoods are next to each other. No doubt contributing to the confusion is the fact that Jefferson Park contains the section known as West Adams Terrace. Speaking of Jefferson Park, LA’s Office of Historic Resources is currently seeking applicants for the five-member board appointed to oversee the Jefferson Park HPOZ. Per the OHR’s website, “Candidates should have experience in construction, real estate, architecture, and/or historic preservation. Residents of the district and property owners with an interest and/or background in preservation are encouraged to apply.” Pass it on!
