With the big overhaul of the Tom Bradley International Terminal complete, retail giant Westfield moved on to a revamp of LAX’s Terminal 2. This week, the work that began back in 2014 was finished, and the revamped Terminal 2 was revealed. According to a release from the company, Westfield put $78.3 million into the reboot of the terminal, which has since been set up into “districts”— the Commercial Hub (“a retail and duty-free shopping district”), the Dining Terrace, and The Strand, “a dining and shopping district” where there’s a fancy bar and a glowing new main staircase.
As promised, the new Terminal 2 has chic terrazzo floors, new bathrooms, lots more seating, lots more shopping and food (16 new shops!), and additional flight information displays. The transformation at LAX soldiers on though, as Terminal 1 has some big changes coming.
