Yet another new mixed-user is coming to Koreatown. Developer Jamison Services Inc. has filed plans with the city of Los Angeles to demolish a TomNToms coffee shop and Manna Korean barbecue restaurant to make room for a seven-story residential and commercialcomplex.
At 3980 Wilshire Boulevard, just four blocks west from the Wilshire and Western subway stop, the new mixed-user would bring 228 new residential units to the neighborhood with a combination of studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom apartments. Residents will have a second floor pool deck and courtyard at their disposal, as well as private balconies, an 1,195-square-foot fitness center, and a 1,330-square-foot roof deck.
The development will provide three levels of underground parking, with residential parking for 340 cars and 23 motorcycles in all. A separate bike parking area would provide spaces for 267 bicycles.
The project features a total of 16,429 square feet of commercial space, with street level storefronts facing both Wilshire Boulevard and Wilton Place. Parking for 23 vehicles will be made available at ground level for shoppers.
Designed by KTGY Group, Inc., it looks like they’re going with soft edges and a modern facade.
Jamison Services is busy building in and around Koreatown. It’s erecting a 209-unit residential complex atop a former parking lot near the Wilshire and Normandie subway station. Also in the works is the conversion of two office towers on Wilshire Boulevard into residential buildings with a total of 450 residential units.
