Like a geodesic dome-home or a Gesner boathouse, A-frames are certainly not for everyone, but we must confess we have a real soft spot for them, what with their association with Alpine villages and skiing holidays, along with their relative scarcity.

This particular specimen that’s just become available can be found nestled amidst the trees of Mount Washington. Built in 1965, the house measures 1,520 square feet, and appears to be making the most of its size, fitting in two bedrooms, one and three-quarter baths, an open-plan kitchen/living/dining room area, a loft lounge, and a laundry room into its triangular living space. Oversize picture windows also help make the space feel larger.

Though on a fairly compact lot of 3,875 square feet, the property looks to be maximizing its outdoor space as well, with multiple tiers of decks, patios, and garden areas. Per the listing, the home features “newer” hardwood floors in the bedrooms, as well as “newer copper piping, water heater, and central a/c/heat systems.” Last sold in 2009 for $619,000, it’s now asking $789,000.
