We’re getting a new look around the proposed NoHo West development, a mixed-use project incorporating residential along with tons of mall-type uses (movie theater, shops, a gym) and office space on a 25-acre site near Laurel Canyon Boulevard and the 170 Freeway, where the Laurel Plaza shopping center is now.
The Macy’s on-site will be revamped into 500,000 square feet of office space. (The Macy’s closed for good last week.) Restaurants, a multi-screen movie theater, and retail will take up 190,000 square feet of space in the development.
Developers Goldstein Planting Investments and Merlone Geier Partners bought the Laurel Plaza in 2014, and have been talking about a mixed-use makeover ever since. There’s no clear timeline though of when construction might start.
