We’ll be tracking election results live tonight for a handful of local ballot measures as results trickle in from the Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters, which starting with vote by mail ballot results, begins releasing data around 8:15 p.m. There are big implications for Los Angeles and some of its neighborhoods. Stay tuned.

The measures

M: a half-cent hike on the sales tax countywide to pay for some major public transit projects, including extending light rail to LAX and bringing the subway to Westwood.

LV: an initiative curtail high-rise development in Santa Monica by requiring that voters—not city planners and elected officials—approve any new building taller than 32 feet.

JJJ: a requirement that developers add affordable units to new residential buildings and hire local construction workers.

HHH: $1.2-billion general obligation bond to finance the construction of supportive and affordable housing for homeless people in the city of Los Angeles.
