A new residential project could soon be constructed on a long-vacant lot just south of Olympic Boulevard.
Located on Serrano Ave, the project site is on the border of Koreatown and Harvard Heights, about a block from the Koreatown Galleria. According to property records, it last sold in 2014 for $6 million.
Plans filed with the city Friday show the project would include 91 apartments. Further details aren’t clear, but a recent sales brochure advertising the property shows plans for a boxy mid-rise structure designed by local architect Daryoush Safai.
The brochure notes that the structure would include 12 affordable units set aside for very low-income tenants. Other features would include balconies, a rear yard, a 2,362-square-foot gym, 112 parking stalls, and 100 bike rack spaces. It’s not clear how many of those details have carried over into the current plans.
The project joins a host of other major multifamily buildings in the pipeline in the Koreatown area, which is seeing something of a development boom lately.
