New to the rental market is this one-bedroom, one-bath unit in West Hollywood’s storied Colonial House. Constructed in 1930, the building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was designed by architect Leland Bryant, known for striking residential projects like Sunset Tower that have attracted Hollywood luminaries for nearly a century.

The Colonial House is no exception. Its roster of former celebrity tenants includes Bette Davis, Frances Marion, Clark Gable, and Eddie Cantor.More recently, Katy Perry moved into the building shortly after ending her very brief marriage to Russell Brand.

This particular unit last sold in November for $950,000. At 780 square-feet, it includes a living room fireplace, built-in bookcases, and hardwood floors throughout. The kitchen has been recently updated and, while the bathroom appears to have been remodeled in recent years, the bathtub retains its vintage tile design.

Building amenities include an assigned parking spot and heated swimming pool. Not surprisingly, rent for the unit isn’t cheap. The condo is being offered at $5,500 per month.
