In this day and age of $100- and $250- million spec houses, it’s so surprising to see one in a good neighborhood like Bel Air for under $30 million.

This gleaming mansion measures about 12,600-square-foot and features French oak floors and, according to listing agents Aaron Kirman of Aaroe Estates, $1 million in Portuguese limestone. The master suite—one of nine bedrooms—has a $60,000 bathtub.

The $60,000 bathtub.

That insanely expensive bathtub is just the start of a long roster of over-the-top amenities, which include:

  • A designated cigar-smoking room
  • A gym
  • A yoga studio with a Pilates machine
  • A 16-seat movie theater
  • An elevator
  • A penthouse with toilets that cost $6,000—each
  • A “hotel-style lobby” with a statement lighting fixture

The property also has a two-bedroom, two-bathroom guest house, and about 9,000 square feet of outdoor space—plenty of room for the 60-foot limestone pool, the 18-foot limestone water feature, outdoor shower, and sculpture garden. Huge sliding glass doors, like the set in the living room, enhance the connection between the outdoors and the house’s interior.

The property was developed by Tariq Jalil, who, like spec mansion developer Nile Niami, was in the entertainment business and is now working on building hillside mansions. Jalil was a producer on 2010’s Marmaduke and the TV series Operation Repo.

The Real Deal reports that Jalil’s J & L Development bought the property in Bel Air in 2013 for $3 million. It’s now listed for $24.995 million.
