Home prices in Eagle Rock have soared in recent years (a recent report from the MLS shows that sale prices in the neighborhood have jumped 11 percent since the first quarter of 2016). Still, it’s not everyday you see a home in the area selling for more than $2 million.
In fact, according to Redfin sales data, no home in at least the last three years has sold for more than $1.73 million. But that hasn’t stopped the sellers of this recently remodeled five-bedroom home from listing the property for nearly $600,000 higher (an amount which, incidentally, would have gotten you a very nice home in Eagle Rock not too long ago).
Listing agent Travis Bayles tells Curbed the home is “like none other in Eagle Rock” and would set a record for the neighborhood if it should sell at its asking price of $2.3 million.
Built in 1959, the property last sold for $917,000 in August of 2015 (it appears to have been bank-owned at the time). Since then, it’s been given a fairly thorough overhaul.
Per the listing, the 4,602-square-foot residence has been tricked out with white oak floors, walnut cabinetry, marble countertops, and a host of other features.
Further highlights include three stone fireplaces, walls of glass, skylights, and a master suite with a walk-in closet and private deck. Located on a quarter-acre lot, part of the home arches above a long swimming pool surrounded by a redone outdoor patio.
Is all that enough to fetch a record-setting price? Only time will tell, but the home’s sale price could tone for future offerings in the area.
