Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent or buy for a certain dollar amount in various LA ‘hoods. We’ve found five rentals within $100 of today’s price: $2,500.

↑ Be the first to live in this redone one-bedroom apartment in Los Feliz. The 600-square-foot unit dates to the 1920s, and it has attractive tile floors, French doors, an in-unit washer and dryer, and handsome period built-ins. It rents for $2,500.

↑ Yes, this apartment is in prime college-town Westwood, but if this is the area you need to be in, this is a solid choice. The large one-bedroom pad is “like a double studio,” and parking, while not explicitly included, is at least “available.” Rent is $2,495.

↑ This Westchester apartment is half of a charming duplex. It has two bedrooms and one bathroom with hardwood floors and in-unit laundry, plus a private garage. Rent is $2,450.

↑ This two-bedroom Adams-Normandie apartment has granite counters, hardwood floors, in-unit laundry, and off-street parking. There’s also a private yard. Rent is $2,495.

↑ This “New York style” loft in Downtown’s Financial District has high ceilings and concrete galore for that crisp industrial look. The apartment has a center island in the kitchen and a walk-in closet. Parking is available, but for an extra $200 a month. Rent is $2,600.
