Planning documents published by the city this week offer a look at a new development project planned for La Cienega Boulevard, just south of LA’s border with Beverly Hills.

Planned for three adjoining parcels between 1056 and 1066 LA Cienega, the seven-story project would bring 90 new apartments to the Carthay neighborhood. Of those units, eight would be set aside for very low-income tenants.

The project would also include two levels of parking in a below-ground garage with 124 spaces for cars and 99 spots for bikes. Amenities for residents would include a pool, community room, second-floor courtyard with seating and a firepit, an outdoor barbecue and dining area, and a dog run behind the building.

A rendering spotted by Urbanize LA shows the Killefer Flammang Architects-designed project would be constructed in a Spanish Colonial style with large arched windows and doors, as well as balconies and a tiled roof.

As the Real Deal reports, the project is being developed by Amoroso Companies. The Calabasas-based firm purchased the property in 2015 for just over $10.3 million.

In exchange for the affordable housing units, the developer has requested incentives from the city, including an increase in the allowable project size and a reduction in the amount of rear yard space required.

If approved, construction on the project is expected to begin in spring of 2018 and continue over the next 18 months. The complex is expected to open by early 2020.
