The proposed six-story complex at Bundy Drive and Missouri Avenue was presented to a meeting of the West LA Sawtelle Neighborhood Council’s planning and land use committee last week.
The project calls for all of the units to be designated for low- and very low-income households. The complex, designed by Withee Malcolm Architects, would hold a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments and offer residents about 12,000 square feet of open space and 50 parking spaces. The project would also be close to transit—about three blocks from the Expo Line’s Expo/Bundy station.
The property is one of several other city-owned properties throughout LA have been highlighted for possible affordable housing development.
The developer still has to secure all the approvals for the project, but is aiming to begin construction in 2019 or 2020.
