Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent or buy for a certain dollar amount in various LA ‘hoods. We’ve found five rentals within $100 of today’s price, $2,000.

Centrally located in Arlington Heights—and one of a couple of two-bedrooms in this round-up—this lovely unit measures 1,000 square feet and features hardwood floors and a remodeled kitchen outfitted with quartz counters and stainless steel appliances. The listing also notes that it comes with a balcony and one assigned parking space. It’s renting for $2,095.

This gleaming Hollywood one-bedroom with a stylish kitchen (subway tiles!) is walking distance to Runyon Canyon (and Hollywood and Highland—eek!). Newly remodeled, it comes with a huge perk: an in-unit washer and dryer. There’s also A/C and one off-street parking space. It’s renting for $1,995.

You can live out many Angelenos’ dreams by renting a bungalow in this lushly landscaped courtyard complex in none other than desirable Silver Lake. The one-bedroom, Spanish-style bungalow features a non-working fireplace, built-ins, French Doors, and a clawfoot bathtub. With a deposit, the manager even allows small pets. It’s renting for $2,100.

If you want to live in the very-happening Arts District, you’ll probably have to sacrifice space. A studio unit in newish One Santa Fe—which Curbed LA once described as the nail in the neighborhood’s gentrification coffin—is available now for $2,049. It measures just 439 square feet. As the photos above show, the complex features a common pool and spa with spectacular views of the Downtown skyline.

Via Briar Management

This two-bedroom in a Mediterranean-style building off Beverly Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue is also centrally located. It’s walking distance to the Grove, the shops and restaurants on Melrose, and the museums on the Miracle Mile. Measuring 895 square feet, the apartment features a retro bathroom and hardwood floors throughout.
