This stylish little number in Glendale‘s Adams Hill was designed in 1962 by AIA architect Richard Banta, an alumnus of several prominent architecture firms, including the offices of Carl Maston, Welton Becket, and Armet & Davis.

Faced with a steep and challenging lot, Banta’s solution was to construct the hilltop residence in the shape of an H, with the H’s lower open section serving as carport and front entrance, and its upper open section used as an outdoor entertaining area.

Measuring 1,218 square feet, the two bedroom, one-and-a-half bath home’s features include maple and slate floors, clerestory windows, built-in speakers in every room, a remote-controlled movie screen with projector in the living room, a view deck, and walls of glass offering dramatic city and mountain views.

Asking price is $899,000, and an open house is scheduled for 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
