“Glass” and “light” are two of the words most associated with the style of midcentury homes. This two-bedroom, two-bathroom built in 1953 has both. But it’s also filled with a bounty of original wood paneling and built-ins that haven’t been painted over, darkening the space and giving it a cozy vibe. The listing promises “that light and shadows throughout the day will transport you to a state of total tranquility.”

The home measures 1,280 square feet, and it also features original cork floors and a double-sided brick wood burning fireplace.

The kitchen was tastefully updated four years ago by the former director of Residential Interiors at Commune Design, per the listing, with slate countertops and custom walnut cabinets.

Outside, you’ll find “agaves, cacti, and more than 50-year-old Redwood trees.” Last sold in 2013 for $775,000, the property—located off First Street and Wilton Place in Windsor Square—is now on the market for $1.249 million.
