As The Wall Street Journal points out, today many homebuyers traverse open houses in search of homes that afford a view from every room.

Open floor plans and walls of glass are catching eyes and drawing bids on the real estate market, and those looking to amp up their home’s allure in time for the open house may want to consider adding a wall of windows to their space, the source explains.

“The open floor plan is predominant in almost everyone’s design now,” home builder Tim Wilkinson told the news source. “They want more light and bigger windows to take advantage of views.”

Home sellers who are considering adding the attractive element to their property may also want to consider obtaining Energy Star-rated windows to boost energy efficiency and add a green element to their house, according to Home and Garden Television.

Some Energy Star-rated windows also qualify for a tax credit, so homeowners should be sure to make a quick check of which windows will make them eligible for the credit before they purchase anything, HGTV suggests. Opting for Energy Star windows can make window additions both aesthetically pleasing and practical, and may attract more buyer interest.
